I'm back, posting on some great TV shows I highly recommend.
Sometimes we are on the lookout and asking what good TV show should I download or rent? Well, here I have some great suggestions, I know many of you have heard or seen some of them, but thought I'd like to share the ones I've seen and recommend.
I'm sure you will enjoy most of them, a fusion of comedy, drama, horror and thrillers...
1- Family Guy 1999, animation, comedy: Hilarious cartoons on a totally hilarious dysfuntional family. A must for good laughs. Creator Seth Mcfarlane throws into these characters with such wit and a bit of dark humor, he promises to get you in a good mood.

2- Six Feet Under 2001, drama: Witty, dark comedy about a family that owns a funeral home and everything that comes alongside. A series to remember. I wouldn't mind watching it again.

4- Nip/Tuck 2003, drama: An arrow straight and proper plastic surgeon juggles with his sex- addicted partner, his weird client demands, among many other issues of sorts, as he witnesses how his life starts to crumble. One of my all time favorites. Oh Dr. Troy...( sigh)
5- Arrested Development 2003, comedy: Son takes over family affairs after father winds up in jail. Spoiled family members make life practically impossible for him. Hilarious! Very funny and witty.

6- The L word 2004, drama, romance: Follows the lives of a small group of lesbians living in L.A., romances, friendships, dramas, catfights...you name it. I will be totally honest, at first I was a little skeptical about watching it, but with all the good reviews, I started it. Got me hooked. Real problems, marriages, children, the day to day life of lesbian couples. Very interesting and great show.

7- Boston Legal 2004, comedy, crime, drama: Shore quickly makes his mark winning civil cases no one would take, often using less than honest methods. In doing so, he develops a rival in colleagues. Funny, witty, and James Spader as Shore, makes it all worthwile.

8- Criminal Minds 2005, crime, drama , mystery: An elite group of profilers analyze the nation's most dangerous criminal minds before they strike again.
9- The Office 2005, comedy: mockumentary that depicts the day to day of a paper supply
company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Made up of head chief Michael Scott, a
harmlessly foolish and ignorantly insensitive boss who cares about the welfare
of his employees while trying to put his own touch on company policy. With an
office including various co-workers who have their own hangups. CAUTION: EXTREMELY FUNNY. Black sense of humor.
10- Dexter 2006, crime, drama, mistery: A Miami police forensics leads a double life, having as an extracurricular activity getting rid of the persons he believes have escaped justice.
11- 30 Rock 2006, comedy: A sketch comedy writer must deal with an arrogant boss and crazy stars to make the show successful without going mad. Tina Fey is fabulous...
12- Dirty Sexy Money 2007, drama: A lawyer is forced to take care of one of New York's wealthiest family. Visually it's eyecandy, the lavish lifestyle, the gorgeous outfits, the dapper dudes make it all easy on the eyes. Unfortunately it only has 2 seasons...

14- Breaking Bad 2008, crime, drama, thriller: alongside with Damages, this is my favorite, OMG! An action packed thriller where a chemistry teacher with terminal cancer pairs up with an old student, to be able to provide a beter life for his family when he passes away, and begin cooking crystal meth. This story begins unfolding in such a way, thet you may not want to stop watching it. It's one of those shows that take your sleep away, you just have to go on to the next episode.
WARNING: Highly addictive.

15- Fringe 2008, drama, mystery, Sci-Fi: A female FBI agent is forced to work with an
institutionalized scientist in order to rationalize unexplained phenomena. Very well created, the filmography is just awesome, and gives us a little perspective on what the future might look like, realistically speaking. Sometimes it may become surreal and makes it fascinating to watch.
16- Lie to Me 2009, crime, drama, mystery: A teacher in body language, employed by agencies to go the extra mile when the police fail to conclude or prove cases, builds up his own team and these persons of interest as well as his clients, have to put up with his mind games.
17- Modern Family 2009, comedy: This show is hilarious, three VERY unique families, each in its own way, related to each other, face their trials and tribulations in a very funny mode. HARD CORE COMEDY!
19- Downton Abbey 2010, drama: Beginning in the years leading up to World War I, the drama
centers on the Crawley family and their servants. The Scenery, the costumes, the story makes you feel intertwined with each and every character. They are all very well written. I just finished Season 3 and can't wait for the next season. Beautifully created. British TV at its best. Highly addictive, in my opinion...
20- Homeland 2011, drama, mystery, thriller: CIA officer believes a U.S. Marine has become a threat to american soil. Well, this one is an emotional rollercoaster. I can tell you Claire Danes proves to be a wonderful actress, portraying a bipolar (suffering from depression) CIA officer with her ups and downs and how she manages to get entangled in her problems. Fascinating!
21- American Horror Story 2011, drama, horror, mystery: An anthology series that centers on different characters and
locations, including a haunted house, an insane asylum and a witch coven.
I looove horror, therefore I loved the first two seasons of this show.
Jessica Lange shines, first as Constance Langdon, she pretends to be gentle and goodnatured but is really
cunning and rude. She cares very much for her children, even though she
sometimes doesn't treat them as well as she should. In American Horror Story Asylum she plays Sister Jude Martin, she runs an Asylum for the criminally insane with an iron fist, torturing her patients, alleging she is helping them through the grace of God when it's all wrong and twisted. Remarkable acting!
22- Person of Interest 2011, action, drama, mystery: A former CIA is recruited by an enigmatic millionaire who possesses a machine, that intercepts e-mails, cell phones and surveillance cameras. Based on an algorithm, the machine pops up social securities numbers, giving a red fleg on that person or group of persons. These might be victims or perpetrators. And that's where the everyday saga begins.
23- Pablo Escobar, El Patron del Mal 2012, biography, crime, drama: The story revolves around Pablo Escobar, a wealthy Colombian drug lord and an elusive cocaine
trafficker.
Pablo rose from middle class simplicity and obscurity to
become one of the world's wealthiest men.
At the height of its power, the
MedellĂn drug cartel was smuggling fifteen tons of cocaine a day, worth more
than half a billion dollars, into the United States. I really enjoyed this show more for its historical purpose. Portrays how greed can get a man to da so much harm in this world. I liked it very much. Well recreated according to the era. Based on a true story.
Well, hope you find a show or two or three...
Enjoy,
xo,
T.
